Who are Primaveras?
We are Primaveras, a relatively new Indie and Alternative Rock band on the North Easts scene from Sunderland/Durham.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
Its hard to really give a solid answer on who are biggest inspirations are as we all take stuff from loads of different artists and genres.
How did you start making music?
We met in college and just played ever since then, started gigging and making tunes not too long after. Not too long ago we met James and its just all clicked really.
What has the band been up to recently?
This years been really big for the band, we started gigging in March and never looked back. People listening to our music and enjoying it is the cherry on top really. In September we released our debut EP ‘Taboo’ and alot of people seemed to really like that aswell.
Earliest musical memory?
For all of us we’ve grown up around music so our first musical memories will have been what our families we’re playing.
What kind of people do you want to listen to your music?
The ones we hear alot is Fontaines D.C, Arctic Monkeys, Stone Roses, The Clash and a few more but our sound is hard to pin down, for me atleast.
What is the bands dream gig line up?
Its more of a festival line up really but here’s our dream gig line up. The Who, Arctic Monkeys, The Smiths, The Stooges, Led Zepplin, Nirvana, Girls Aloud and The Beach Boys.
Where do you see the band in 2 years?
In two years time I think we’ll still be gigging and releasing music, hopefully the tunes will have reached more ears and we’ll have played loads of new venues and cities.
What have you got coming up in the future?
On the 1st of December we’re supporting Precious Ink at the Independent, we can’t wait for that one of our favourite venues to play. After that we’re really busy in January and have plenty gigs on we’re supporting Jam Tub at The Globe in Newcastle on the 27th and then Alation at the Bunker on the 13th. We then have another gig which hasn’t yet been announced.
Who is your favourite local artist?
There are a couple local bands that stand out to us, Vice Killer, Alation, Jam Tub and New Romantic Era. All these bands have great musicianship and a massive sound, they never disappointed every time we’ve saw them.
