Here are two quick picks for upcoming events in Sunderland this November, click the dates for links to the tickets.
Orielles @ Pop Recs – 24 November
Halifax’s best alt/indie band cruise to Sunniside this November at the tail end of a busy European tour. After breaking through with 2018’s ‘Silver Dollar Moment’, The Orielles have sewn their stylish British indie into four albums, with 2022’s ‘Tableau’ and its subsequent tour bringing them to Sunderland.
With the recent LP, they created an experimental double album self-produced in collaboration with producer Joel Anthony Patchett. In doing so, the Orielles have utilised holistic jazz practices, oblique 21st century electronica, and experimental 1960s tape loop methods.
Fans of Space Rock and fuzzy lo-fi should check out The Orielle’s live album ‘Live At Stoller Hall’, which shows off their trademark loose intensity, kind of like a skiffly Radiohead or stonery Massive Attack.
Tickets available from Music Glue.
