‘Take me’ – Calvoas

This driving debut from Sunderland’s Calvoas conjures imagery of being swept up by the tide and drowning, which contrasts nicely with the sweet and articulate lead vocal. The combination of creamy and crunchy guitar tones also ensures no space is wasted on this autumn release.

‘Catalina’ – Red Remedy

This surprising followup to 2023’s ‘Wait’ from Red Remedy is an anthemic dance tune that showcases both their musical diversity and fearlessness in being more than just an indie band. It still retains the same spacey, dreamy feel of the debut, but this one has a donk on it.

‘Porcelain’ – Tilly Lockey

The multi-talented and multi-faceted Tilly Lockey has produced an intense, empowering debut single with the help of producers Eve Horne, Millie Blooms and Dan Fry. Her self-styled genre, labelled Bionic Pop, sounds like if Taylor Swift met Pat Bennatar—the pop hooks are there, but it’s undeniably powerful.

‘Taboo’ – Primaveras

Described on The Bunker radio show as ‘drum-climbing radgies from Hetton’, Primaveras have scooped up all the exciting elements of Fontaines DC and forced them through an Arctic Monkeys-shaped hole. It’s catchy, exciting, and these indie punks are only just getting started.

‘The Problem’ – CHAT

Fans of Stock Aitken Waterman will be delighted with the latest firecracker from Sunderland camp synth-pop duo CHAT. ‘The Problem’ showcases the best of Beccy’s conversational vocal delivery against a massive hooky chorus. They launched this single at Otto café with an accompanying DJ set of 70s and 80s bangers that went down a storm—classy.
