Who are Even The Tides?

We are Liam (vocals, Rhythm Guitar), Anth (Lead Guitar), Alex (Bass) and Corbin (Drums), we’re an alternative band from Newcastle 🙂

Who is your biggest inspiration and why?

We’re all inspired by different things and have different individual styles covering indie/rock/grunge/country/blues/metal/post punk. That’s what inspires us to make our sound by combining our influences.

How did you start making music?

We’ve been together 1 year and 3 of us (Anth, Corbin and Alex) met at Gateshead College and met up with Liam through a band Kupla that him and Corbin were both in at the time. Since then we’ve clicked together well and started working on original material from our 1st practice.

What have you/the band been up to recently?

We’ve just hit our 1 year anniversary. So in that time we’ve been gigging, writing new material and we’ve had 3 trips to Innheart Studios where we’ve recoded 4 songs – ‘Doing The Best I Can’, ‘New Shadows’, ‘Need Your Love’ and ‘Colourful Creatures’ all out now.

What Is Your Earliest Musical Memory?

Anth and Alex – Both Listening to Meat Loaf in the car which is a strange coincidence, Liam and Corbin similarly both introduced to music through the Foo Fighters.

What Kind Of People Do You Want To Listen To You Music?

Absolutely anyone who enjoys it.

What Is The Bands Dream Line Up?

Even.The.Tides, RHCP, Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumkins, The Smiths

Where Do You See Yourself In 2 Years?

Hopefully playing to as many full rooms as possible and some festivals as well.

What Do You Have Coming Up In The Future?

We’ll have some more songs out next year, for the remainder of this year we are gigging at The Bunker,Sunderland Sat 25/11, Downcast Studios, Gateshead on Mon 27/11 and Independent 23/12.

Who Is Your Favourite Local Artist?

We’re just going to name several because their all friends who we’ve played with and are talented so check them out: Paper Boats, Not Now Norman, Calvoas, Lormie Luaba, The Praetors.
